Why is Cars and Coffee special, and what makes it different than a Car Show or a Meet? Well, for starters, Cars and Coffee is centered around community. No matter what you drive, it’s welcome at Cars and Coffee. This differs from a Car Show, where it is expected the cars seen will be in top condition, and where there may be limits to what cars are shown- things like Make, Style, and Era are all important with a Car Show. Similarly, Car Meets ay be limited to specific car clubs only, and showing up in an absolute bucket is generally cause for ridicule.
Cars and Coffee typically does not have an entry fee, and rarely have any awards to hand out. It’s much more about participation, but what do we mean when we say that? Well, we mean it’s about showing up in whatever you drive (even tractors and big rigs!) and socializing with other participants. You won’t typically find someone sitting in a chair next to their pristine 1 of 6088 Nassau Blue 1965 Corvette (and no, unless they’ve done some modifications, it’s not a 1 of 1 car, there were 6022 of them produced in Nassau Blue).
So what can you expect? A wide range of vehicles- American Muscle, Japanese and European Imports, Exotics, Farm Equipment Vehicles, Bug Rigs, and even Military vehicles all show up to these events. The relaxed and informal atmosphere is a great place because attendees can come and go as they please, have conversations about their passions, and even get advice from others.
The first Cars and Coffee took place in Huntington Beach, California, in 2003. Since then it has grown, and many cities across the globe now have one that is hosted by locals. It has been a great platform to raise funds for local charities, with Toy and school supply drives, DV Awareness events, and more.
Cars and Coffee is a great fit for Woodburn, and we’re proud to finally bring an event where enthusiasts and those who are just curious can come together and socialize while sharing their appreciation of all things automotive.
